Celebrating the International Mother Language Day, the Literary and Dramatics Club of Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC) in Jalandhar recently organised a slogan writing competition.

This annual observance served as a reminder of the significance of linguistic diversity and the importance of promoting multilingual education.

This year’s International Mother Language Day theme was, “Multilingual education – a pillar of learning and intergenerational learning”. This theme emphasised the pivotal role that embracing multiple languages plays in fostering education and facilitating intergenerational knowledge exchange.

The competition witnessed enthusiastic students’ participation. Young learners from different educational courses such as BBA, BCA, BCom (H), B Tech (CSE), MBA and MCA from all three schools within the institute  participated. They crafted slogans in their mother tongue, Punjabi. The competition provided a platform for students to express their cultural heritage and linguistic prowess while reflecting on the theme’s significance.

The slogan writing competition turned out to be a thrilling experience for all the participants. The first prize was bagged by Harleen Kaurn, a BBA student.  The second and third positions were secured by BBA students Nehal and Mansi respectively.

Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director of AIMETC,  extended his heartfelt best wishes to all the participants and congratulated the prize winners for their exemplary contributions. His support and encouragement underscore the institute’s commitment to fostering cultural diversity and promoting linguistic inclusivity among its student body.’

Dr. Bagga further added, “The event celebrated the richness of Punjabi language and culture while highlighting the broader importance of multilingual education in nurturing well-rounded learners and facilitating intergenerational knowledge transfer.”

Finally, Dr. Bagga conveyed his best wishes to the Literary and Dramatics Club for organising such an outstanding event.
