From Marine Engineering to an MBA—What inspired this transition?

I pursued marine engineering at Tolani Maritime Institute, Pune, and joined the merchant navy. However, due to family reasons and the challenges posed during the COVID-19 period, I stepped away and joined my father’s wealth management firm. That’s when I developed a deep interest in finance and the securities market, leading me to pursue an MBA to gain expertise and eventually take over the business.

How did Apeejay School, Saket groom you?

My time at Apeejay School, Saket was filled with great memories, lifelong friendships, and inspiring teachers. While I wasn’t the most studious student—often a backbencher laughing with friends—I still managed decent grades. More importantly, my teachers instilled in me manners, etiquettes, and the confidence to navigate the professional world.

What were your interests during school?

I was an active football player until Class 10 and enjoyed being part of the school team. Academically, I wasn’t particularly inclined toward any subject—I wasn’t that studious! However, my school experiences, including interactions with peers and teachers, played a huge role in shaping my personality.

What are your plans after MBA?

My next step is to join my father’s wealth management firm and expand it further using the knowledge I’ve gained from my engineering background, college experiences, and MBA education. I want to apply modern financial strategies and industry best practices to take our business to the next level.

3 tips for building wealth

First, be patient and disciplined—wealth creation takes time. Second, in the stock market, buy more during dips and never panic-sell. And third, understand the power of compounding—consistent investing leads to significant long-term gains.

Any advice for students on finance?

Students can start learning about finance early. With access to the internet, they can explore online workshops, stock market basics, and personal finance concepts. Being financially literate from a young age can be a game-changer for their future.
