Plastics are a wide range of synthetic or semi-synthetic materials that use polymers as the main ingredient. They are light in weight and made up of harmful chemicals. Plastics are most commonly used for making daily-use objects like bottles, tiffin boxes, and combs.

The use of plastics has many benefits like easy to afford, versatile, resistant, and can help reduce other forms of waste – especially food waste. The reason for the rise in the use of plastic is its easy availability and cost effectiveness. However, it has many disadvantages as well such as: it damages the soil, ruins the fertility of the soil which leads to soil pollution, causes water pollution, affects the earth including mankind, wildlife and aquatic life and can have adverse health effects like asthma, liver damage, nerve and brain damage, kidney-related diseases, etc.

In the end, we can say that instead of using plastic, we should use its substitutes like inter plastic products, steel or glass utensils. Instead of plastic combs and plastic straws, one must choose alternatives like wooden combs and paper straws.

Moreover, for a healthy lifestyle, we must stop using plastic and save the life of future generations. It’s never too late to start something good and healthy. So let’s start today by avoiding the consumption of harmful plastics.
