A Chartered Accountant at a construction company, Mr. Aseem Malik, and his wife, Ms. Chandni, visited many pre-schools in Delhi last year. Eventually, they chose Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld, Greater Kailash –II for their two-year-old son, Arhev. Their decision was swift based on a summer camp that their son attended in the institution. Some other factors at play were – the pre-school was closer to their residence, it set realistic expectations for children, and is well-recognised for making learning fun. Read on, as Ms. Chandni shares more. Edited excerpts from the interview.

When did your son start his classes at Apeejay, Rhythms?

Last year during the month of May, Arhev attended the Rhythms summer camp. After which, I could tell that he was gleaming with joy. So, I interacted with the teachers of the school. Once its admissions were open, we applied and my son was selected to be part of the school. Eventually, he started the classes in July.

It has been 18 months now. At present, he is in Play Steps. Honestly, post Covid-19, I was also a bit worried about him. I wanted him to be part of an institution that can not only provide him the right education, but also an opportunity to learn experientially. I am thankful to the teachers in the school who are making this happen for Arhev. Even now, I often speak with them just to seek their advice. I trust that they will guide us the best.

Tell us about your son’s developmental milestones.

The school is providing a good environment and learning experience to Arhev. He is definitely picking up. Gradually, he is understanding more about team-building and honing his interpersonal skills.

An interesting anecdote about your son’s school journey?

Since his association with the school, Arhev has started singing a lot. *laughs* At night, he often sings the rhymes or poems learnt in the class. It is interesting to watch him! Sometimes, he even sings them first thing in the morning. He seems to be enjoying them a lot!

Your advice to fellow parents?

It is a great school. The teachers are extremely supportive and understanding. They take things slow, and so, children too enjoy the learning process.
