Nelson Mandela, the Former President of South Africa once said, “There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than how it treats its children.”
Truly, children are the world’s most valuable resource and its best hope for the future. Not only do they spread happiness wherever they go, but their young minds are constantly on the lookout for new adventures and experiences.
They are indeed the most beautiful creation of God. Thus, to celebrate the love they carry within, Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld School, Greater Kailash – II recently commemorated World Children’s Day with great zeal and enthusiasm. The event nurtured children’s spirit for innovation and discovery through exciting and magical Disney characters.
The event was themed, ‘Mickey and Mini’ in which little kids came dressed up as Mickey and Mini Mouse. To provide them the apt setting, the school’s staff decorated the premises with balloons, buntings and hearts. Young learners received a warm welcome by their teachers while anticipating the upcoming little wonders of the day.
A crucial aspect of these students’ pedagogy is ‘play’ which helps them build 21st century skills such as problem-solving, collaboration and creativity. During play activities, they learn how to learn. Keeping the same in mind, the teachers organised a range of enthralling games and activities. Mickey and Mini, Jack-in-the-Box, Spin-the-ball, Shake-the-shaker, Balancing-the-ball, Capture-the-balloon, were some of them.
Apart from these, children also grooved to the music of some melodious songs customised to their liking. The school celebrated the uniqueness and potential of these tiny tots by allowing them to jump and dance to the beats to further express themselves. Near to the end of the day, all of them had beautiful smiles on their faces.
“May the innocence in their smiles and the purity of their hearts stay forever. I hope we can also keep the child in us alive. Wishing a joyful Children’s Day!”
