Tell us about your recent competitions and achievements.

I had a terrific summer vacation this year. I participated in three musical competitions and won in all of them. My first talent hunt results have already been published in the Apeejay newsletter. In June, I participated in Faridabad Got Talent organised by an Asian Hospital. Its audition was on June 28 and I got selected in the singing category. Its final was on July 7 and I won second prize in that. I participated in an online International competition Gaana Natya Siri organised by Veenadhari Institute of Music and Fine Arts, Bengaluru in June and won a super Gold + medal in singing and Gold medal in shloka recitation.

Who is your biggest inspiration to pursue dance and singing?

Arijit Singh is my biggest inspiration! I love his voice so much. Also, Kishore da (Kumar) is my musical godfather.

How did Apeejay support you in exploring your talent?

My school teacher Dhirender sir helped me a lot! He guided me in every aspect of my musical journey. He informed me about the Veenadhari Institute International competition wherein about 30 countries participated. I am lucky to have such supportive teachers around me who constantly motivate me to explore my talents and aim to reach the apex.

Would you like to explore these art forms further professionally?

Yes! I would love to become a good singer. After studies, music is my first love, and then martial arts and karate.

What is your biggest learning from such art forms?

Mental peace and internal happiness come from music and it makes life disciplined.

Are your parents supportive enough to pursue this?

Yes. They are more confident than me that I can make it big in the singing world. They support me in every aspect by taking me to various auditions and competitions. I learnt Indian classical music from Praharaj University and then Dhirender sir further polished my skill at school. I’ve been learning music since the age of five.

What’s the most challenging part of these art forms and how did you overcome it?

Time management is the most challenging part! After school, I need to do all the school work and then in the evening, I go to my music classes. Sometimes I am sleepy but then also I need to attend my classes. For the competitions my parents need to take an entire day off to take me there, it’s like an entire family collaborative effort. My parents never leave me alone and always have my back. I have my professional keyboard which I play along while singing.

What are your dreams and goals?

My dream is to become a scientist like my maternal uncle. I will try my best to crack IIT like him in the future and aspire to become a big scientist. My goal is to become a good human being first and pursue my love for music and singing.
