MBA student at Apeejay shares about her learning aspirations

Dharna Sharma, who has recently joined the MBA programme at Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC), Jalandhar, decided to join the institute because of its strong reputation in the management field.
When asked what goals she aspires to achieve at AIMETC, Dharna said, “During my MBA, I want to develop several practical skills that are essential for a successful management career. I aim to improve my leadership and team management abilities, learning how to effectively lead diverse teams. Strategic thinking and problem-solving will also be a focus that will help me to analyse and provide solutions to complex business situations.” She further added, “Building a strong foundation in financial skills is another priority along with these, effective communication skills is something I want to inculcate as It is a must for working in the management sector.”
Sharing about her interests, she said, “Those include working in a reputed organisation as a management professional and the good thing about the MBA programme is that it offers a perfect blend of theoretical knowledge and practical experience, along with opportunities to network with professionals.”
Explaining how the MBA programme will empower her for the professional world, she said, “I believe the MBA course will equip me with the skills and knowledge required to work in an MNC.”
Finally, she also mentioned that she is interested in specialising in both human resources (HR) and finance. “HR fascinates me because it’s all about supporting and developing people, creating a positive workplace culture, and making sure employees are engaged and motivated. Finance, on the other hand, is crucial for understanding the numbers behind the business—making smart investment choices, managing budgets, and ensuring financial health. By focusing on both HR and finance, I hope to blend effective people management with solid financial planning, which I believe will help me make a meaningful impact in any organisation.”
