Learn the tricks of innovative, critical and design thinking

AIMETC in Jalandhar organised a workshop to immerse students into the world of innovation as a systematic process of understanding relevant business and social problems

The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC) in Jalandhar recently organised a workshop on ‘Design Thinking, Critical Thinking and Innovation Design’. Students from B Com, BBA, MBA, MCA, BCA, and B.Tech attended this workshop. 

The resource person for this workshop was Mr. Rajiv Kumar Bhardwaz, HoD, School of Information Technology. The main objective of the session was to immerse students into the world of innovation as a systematic process of understanding relevant business and social problems.

During the workshop, Mr. Rajiv Bhardwaz explained the crucial role of critical thinking in design thinking and innovation. Further, the workshop exposed the students to state-of-the-art perspectives, ideas, concepts, and solutions, related to the design and execution of innovation-driven projects using design thinking principles.

It was indeed an enlightening and inspiring session during which young minds understood the importance of inculcating innovation in finding a solution to a problem.

Sharing his experience, an MBA student Anuj Thapa said, “Mr. Rajiv Bhardwaz spoke at length on the subject of ideation and design thinking, using a number of interesting exercises to invoke the critical thinking ability of the students. The session also dealt with techniques for improving critical and design thinking. Overall, the session was highly interactive and extremely thought provoking for all of us.”

Chanchal, a B Com student, emphasised, “We participated in a number of design thinking exercises and we realised such exercises would help in improving creative thinking skills of students. The session was highly interactive and inspiring.”

Further, Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director at AIMETC, complemented the IIC team members for this activity and stressed for initiating such activities in the future too, to motivate the students to develop the culture of innovation, startups and entrepreneurship.
