What inspired you to become a teacher?

My parents always inspired me, and teaching became my dream as my mother was a special educator. A passion to impart values I imbibed to the students gave me a push to follow my dream of being a teacher.

How long have you been associated with Apeejay Faridabad Sector – 15?

My association with Apeejay goes back to 2006. I teach English and Environmental Studies to students in primary classes.

What is the secret to managing a class of young children successfully?

Children are innocent and one can win them easily with unconditional love. All they need is a smiling face, a loving ear, and someone whom they can trust. With a little support and care, they shine.

What keeps you motivated to carry on in the profession?

When I reflect upon my day, the sense of accomplishment of having achieved the objectives successfully helps put a smile on my face. And that is my biggest motivation. The appreciation of the students and their parents also gives a big boost.

How has early childhood education evolved over the years?

Change is the only constant. From being teacher-centric to metaphorically becoming student-centric to now focusing on building the skills of students, the education system has evolved. It is holistic and multidisciplinary in its approach, incorporated to suit individual needs. Education has indeed come a long way.
