Diwali is all about sharing and spreading love as well as happiness. On this auspicious festival, everyone tries to do their best to make their loved ones happier while creating a memorable moment. Weeks before the festival of lights, each one begins to buy Diwali gifts for family and friends and on the day of the festival everyone exchanges gifts and spreads joy.  However, for some the sweetest memory is created when they celebrate the festival with people living in an old-age home and needy kids of an orphanage.

Thus, spreading this festive joy, hope and happiness, Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC) in Rama Mandi, Jalandhar  initiated a heartwarming gesture “Helping Hand”.

This initiative was organised by the students of NSS Club of AIMETC. Ahead of Diwali, the club members visited Apahaj Ashram in Jalandhar to spread festive happiness among the elderly people and orphans by donating different items.

The initiative was organised in collaboration with student coordinators including Shivani (BBA-I), Neha Joshi (BBA-I), Sukrant (BBA-I), Aman Yadav (BBA-I), Harleen Kaur (BBA-I) and faculty in charge Dr. Avnip Deora, Faculty at School of Information Technology, Mr. Sunny Gulati, Faculty at  School of Management and Mr. Vikas Kumar, Faculty at School of Engineering.

Appreciating the students and faculty, Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director at AIMETC said, “It’s a great initiative and I urge you all to carry on such activities and drives at regular intervals.”

Sharing her thoughts Neha Joshi (BBA Semester 1) said, “I had the privilege of visiting a local orphanage to make a donation with faculty members of college. The atmosphere was filled with both anticipation and warmth as I entered the facility. The children greeted me with smiles that reflected both resilience and innocence. The visit served as a reminder that small acts of kindness can make a significant difference in the lives of those who need it most.”
