Mr. Shovan Barik is the Vice-President at a consultancy firm. His son Swastik Barik is a class 6 student at Apeejay Kharghar. In an interview, Mr. Barik discusses his son’s academic progress and highlights how the school goes the extra mile to help students. Edited excerpts:

Why did you choose Apeejay Kharghar for Swastik’s admission?

I had heard very good reviews about the school. We were staying in Nerul earlier, so initially we were interested to get Swastik enrolled at Apeejay Nerul. But later as we shifted to Kharghar, we chose this school. Swastik wrote the admission exam and cracked it.

Please tell us a bit about Swastik and take us through his progress at school?

My son has been consistently doing well in school. He has been securing top grades in mostly all the subjects. Science is his favorite subject. He often participates in extracurricular activities. He loves to play football. Outside the school, Swastik represents his club, Young Shall Grow, in the local Mumbai tournaments. He plays as a center forward.

Are the teachers engaging well with the students?

Yes. The teachers are teaching very well. His science teacher, Mamta Ma’am, is a wonderful teacher. She is my son’s favorite teacher and it is because of her that his interest in science has grown up.

What is the best thing about the school?

All the teaching staff, Principal ma’am, Vice-Principal ma’am and coordinators are all very friendly and helpful. They always understand our queries. They are very approachable and work on our queries and feedback immediately.

How has the experience of the online classes been for Swastik?

It was very good. It was a very tough period for all due to the pandemic but the school managed it very smoothly. The school did a great job with the online classes.

Now that the school has reopened, is Swastik happy to be back at school?

Yes. He is very happy to rejoin the school physically.
