After completing her schooling, she got a little confused about choosing a path for herself. However, she was clear in mind that she is not made for the field that involves any kind of Mathematics. At that time, Journalism and Mass Communication was all she could think about. Namrata Arora graduated with a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication  from Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies, Rohini. After that she decided to opt for a PG Diploma in Advertising and Marketing Communication from Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication (AIMC). Currently, Namrata is working as a Client Servicing Executive at Adworth Media Pt. Ltd. Read edited excerpts from the interview to know about her aspirations to be a part of the advertising field:

What made you join AIMC? Tell us about your journey.

After my first year of graduation, I wasn’t really sure about this field. But during the second year of the course, I got introduced to the subject “Advertising.” After studying the subject for a few months, I realised the scope this field has in today’s world. Thus, I decided to pursue a Masters in Advertising after my graduation.

I started searching for the best colleges in Advertising and then I got to hear about the positive feedback on Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication. Few of my friends, who passed out from the Institute, assured me in the beginning only that I’ll get to learn so much from the best Professors. They told me about the experiences they will give us, about the lessons they will provide, which will help me to grow professionally in the Industry. I wanted to make my career a super hit so I chose AIMC and enrolled myself for a PG diploma in Advertising and Marketing Communication.

But some people think that a PG Diploma doesn’t have the same value as a Master’s degree has. I would like to give those fresher’s a tip as a working professional in this particular field that PG Diploma gives you an equal knowledge, experience and job as the Master’s degree.

How did Apeejay help you in your professional journey?

I was an introvert person when I stepped into AIMC, but when I stepped out of AIMC, I was a grown-up, independent and confident girl, who could talk to anyone around the world.

As per my experience, I had an amazing journey throughout my course. The professors were so experienced and supportive that whenever I needed any guidance they were always ready to help. And, yes I can say that at some point they became like my parents, who only wanted good things for me, who have taken care of me in such a manner that AIMC made me feel like a family.

I was given the opportunity to work on many projects with a team as well as separately, which were very challenging yet made me industry-ready.

What do you enjoy the most at your job?

After meeting the expectation of different brands in the market, I feel satisfied. This is what I enjoy the most at my job and I feel that this is what I am meant for.

Point out some of the current trends in client servicing sector

Over the years, client’s expectations haven’t changed much. They still want to experience fast solutions to their requirements. They expect us to talk to them and make them understand things in a polite and most easy way possible. Clients want us to listen to their issues and give them the most feasible solutions. So, a client servicing professional needs to make sure of their tone and pitch while talking to a new, old or an existing client.

Finally, where do you see yourself in the next five years?

I see myself as an advertising professional, who has valuable expertise in the field of advertising. I want to give this industry something to remember.
