Travelling to another country, and to adapt to the lifestyle, culture as well as values, can be quite an experience. The process can be smoothened, no doubt, but only if it is planned well in advance. A session on education abroad was recently organised at Apeejay School, Saket in association with Hayden and Reynott. The company focuses on profile building through regular classroom programmes and aims to provide maximum scholarships and top universities for aspirants.

At Apeejay, this session was attended by students from classes 8, 9 and 11. They were apprised about the plethora of possibilities related to foreign education by Mr Niladri Bhattacharyya, an Admissions Manager at Hayden and Reynott. Further, he shared tips with students on how to prepare themselves for their study abroad journey.

Sharing her experience, Harmeet, a class 11 student in the school says, “Education overseas involves a lot of research and documentation. And so, the workshop was very helpful. Further, I am keen to learn more about the expenditure involved in the process.”

For those who aspire to enroll this year, Mr. Bhattacharyya opines that they must start from today. He says, “Your knowledge on English and Mathematics is important to crack the code. Remember, top global colleges are not only looking at your educational background and talent but also ‘you’ as a human being. So, what you bring to the table is paramount.”

While most aspirants worry about food and accommodation in a new country, staying on campus looks like a reasonable option, according to Mr. Bhattacharyya. “Why someone must aim to pursue education in another country are the different course-related options and exposure. Let’s say, someone has applied for a degree in Computer Science. They can also choose to study Music simultaneously. This means that one can pick from different departments in the same college. It is quite flexible,” he says.

When asked about the top colleges to aim for in 2023, King’s College London, University of Bath, University College London, University of Glasgow, Scotland, University of Edinburgh, Scotland and University College, Dublin are some names as per the expert.

According to Saanya, another class 11 student of the school, “The workshop was very interactive. I could clear up my doubts regarding education abroad without any hesitation. The team from Hayden and Reynott also informed us on how to create one’s profile and prepare for our candidature in global universities. It was quite insightful.”
