Honouring the real-life hero

We watch movies and read many books about superheroes with superpowers. They can fly in the sky, climb as well as go through walls, and defeat enemies with their strong powers. However, the real superheroes are those who help, protect, and take care of us. For example, doctors and nurses who care for us, put aside their own lives. Soldiers and police officers also fall into this category, as they protect our country and save us from danger. Many people contribute to our well-being, and one such exemplary individual is Captain Vikram Batra.

Captain Vikram Batra was an officer in the Indian Army and was awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest and most prestigious award for valor, for his actions in the 1999 Kargil War.

He received this honour on 15 August 1999, the 52nd anniversary of India’s Independence. His father, G.L. Batra, received the award on behalf of his son from the late President of India, K. R. Narayanan. Captain Vikram Batra was often referred to as “Shershah”.

The quote: “Never forget the people who help you while everyone is making excuses” holds significant meaning. From this story, I conclude that we should honour, respect, and remember the
“Real-Life Superheroes”, who selflessly contribute to the well-being of others.
