Ms. Manisha Madhukar Nath was HR Manager with GE Capital. She has also worked with other reputed companies such as Hyatt Regency, Voltas, PepsiCo, Bank of Nova Scotia and Timelife. She was also Assistant Professor, Behavioural Science in Amity University.  At present, she is a homemaker and performing vocalist. Her daughter Mugdha Nath is studying in class 11 of Apeejay School, Noida, while her son, Nirmalya Nath, completed his class 12 from the same school in 2021. In an interview with Apeejay Newsroom, she explains the critical role of school in shaping the development of her children.

Why did you choose Apeejay School, Noida?
Both Nirmalaya and Mugdha have studied in Apeejay School, Noida since Nursery. This was our first love (laughs). There were multiple factors which influenced our decision. To begin with, we knew that Apeejay is one of the oldest schools in Noida. Secondly, we knew a couple of children who had studied in Apeejay School and did well in their career. In fact, one of them went to IIT Roorkee and another got admission in a prominent US university.  Thirdly, my husband loved the huge playground when we visited the school. Fourth and most importantly, I was deeply impressed by the life of Late Dr. Stya Paul (Founder Chairman, Apeejay Stya Group & Apeejay Education Society). The lesson you get from his life is that with hard work and dedication you can reach new heights in life. I know this because both my sister and father are physically challenged. Yet, they have not allowed the physical disability to hold them back from achieving their dreams.  The empathy that the school has for its founding father flows down to every member of the institution.

How has the school contributed to the development of your children?
Nirmalya was the Head Boy of the school in class 12. He was the captain of the school cricket team and went on a student exchange programme to Sri Lanka. He was also a Scholar Badge holder and won numerous other accolades. Mugdha, too, has benefited a lot from the school. She too is a Scholar Badge holder and has been a part of the Prefectorial Board. She knows Odissi and Kathak dance. She is also a swimming champion. Do you think they could have achieved all these milestones without the active support and guidance of school? The school has instilled confidence, self-belief and high self-esteem in my children. It provides a platform to every student to express themselves. For example, during Annual Day functions every child is encouraged to showcase his/her talent. Which school does that? I would also like to highlight that my children have always come home happy from school.

Tell us about the teachers?
Teachers are like mothers to my children. They are always welcoming. They know the pulse of each and every child. I am so impressed by them. I haven’t seen teachers who work so hard. They know their subjects very well and have immense pedagogical knowledge. Students never feel scared in front of teachers. I would also like to mention that during the Covid pandemic they made a swift transition to online teaching, which is commendable.

“I don’t feel there’s a need for me to recommend Apeejay School, Noida to others. The growth and development of my children is the biggest advertisement of the school. If your children are doing well others enquire about their school. We get queries about my children’s school all the time.”
