Apeejay School, Kharghar holds a special workshop that integrates international concepts into the Indian curriculum

The modern age is an age with no borders. With the help of the internet, the world has indeed shrunk in size as within the tap of a key, one can easily know the other end of the world. It echoes with the ancient Indian thought: Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam- the world is one family.

In such an age, where job opportunities often call one in foreign lands, it is crucial to learn at the right stage, international concepts and curricula. Apeejay School, Kharghar has always aimed to prepare its students for the changing global dynamics.

To equip students with an international flair of education, under the guidance of Ms. Satwant Palekar, Education Officer, Apeejay Education Group, who is also a resource person of British Council Education India, the school hosted an action planning workshop on the Recognition of International Dimension in Schools Programme (RIDS).

This initiative empowers schools to seamlessly integrate international activities into their curriculum, thereby fostering intercultural understanding through collaborative projects and community involvement. RIDS provides schools with guidance in planning, executing, and evaluating international initiatives and ensuring alignment with certification criteria.

British Council Education India offers access to international curriculum, exams, teacher training, and English courses, facilitating smooth integration into the international industry. With a focus on fostering global citizenship, the RIDS workshop equipped students with key skills to thrive in an interconnected world.

By promoting international awareness, the programme contributes to a more inclusive and harmonious society, celebrating diversity and fostering collaboration across borders. The workshop was a great hit amongst the students as they enthusiastically learned about many international concepts, cultures and the various foreign shifts in the English language. It was indeed a step forward in the right direction.
