Misha Sharma, a student at Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication (AIMC), was recently hired by Adfactors PR through campus placements. The talented girl from Jaipur pursued a PG Diploma in Public Relations, Corporate Communications, and Event Management, shares how multiple internships and guidance from professors helped her crack the job interview.

Edited excerpts:

‘Wasn’t nervous about campus placements’

“Adfactors PR was the only company I interviewed for and got selected. I had an online interview. AIMC faculty helped me immensely in this whole journey. We had many mock interview rounds to help us work on our personality, confidence level, and Q&A. Not just that, the curriculum in itself was designed to prepare us for the industry.

Before my first job, I also made sure to gain experience by doing several internships in PR. I got some hands-on experience in content writing, social media management, and so on, which worked in my favour. And I had prior experience with job interviews, which boosted my confidence. So, I was not too nervous during campus placements. What matters is how you communicate, how confident you are, and how attentive you are. Besides, I also referred to online resources to learn how to give answers in an interview and also prepared a brief introduction about myself.”

“I recommend AIMC to friends’

“The best thing about AIMC is that it provides you the much-needed industry exposure. The faculty is very understanding and supports students through personal or professional challenges. They are all very friendly, so students do not hesitate to share even their deepest issues with them. The professors are very patient and willing to teach a concept multiple times till every student’s doubts are cleared. I think studying at AIMC was one of the best decisions I made. I have been recommending this institute to many friends and acquaintances.”
