Human life is filled with many decisive moments. The test of fire one goes through while preparing for these moments is what galvanizes the inner iron and makes one strong in all aspects. The CBSE Board exam is one such decisive moment and the primary one in the lives of young scholars.

However, be it any test, Apeejay students always ace it with full confidence. This year is no exception as students of Apeejay School, Kharghar, showcase a stellar performance in the Class 12 CBSE Board exam and have made their parents, teachers and alma mater proud.

Secret to good result

School topper, Anushree Mittal, scored an unbelievable 97.2% in Non-Medical Science stream. She claims that self-study is the most important asset a student can have. Speaking about her performance she exclaims, “I studied 2-3 hours regularly after school and coaching, I feel those hours were crucial. Also, my school teachers would teach me the topics I was weak in, all over again and that too right before the exams. This helped me in effectively covering all topics of the NCERT syllabus in-depth. Of-course, the pre-Board exams helped me to reflect on and correct my mistakes.”

The school topper wants to become an engineer in the future and serve the nation sincerely. She feels the secret to a good result is a positive attitude towards education. Anushree opines, “My family has always had a positive attitude towards education. They have always made me understand that it is a big boon in life to have the privilege to be educated. This statement alone ignited and maintained my focus.” The topper advises the current class 12 batch to not blindly memorise topics, instead understand them and get a better hold over the subject.

No substitute for hard work

A similar advice is offered by second rank holder Aditya Bhandari, who scored a fabulous 95.8% in Medical stream. The aspiring oncologist mentions that there is no substitute for hard work. He mentions, “I never counted my study hours, but they must have been about 11-12 hours roughly a day.  In short, I would just eat, sleep and study.” He further adds, “The school supported me a lot. The credit for my result would go to my teachers. They all were a pillar of support. I would  especially like to thank my chemistry teacher Ms. Neetu. She would call me before the exams and solve all my doubts on call.”

Study sincerely and consistently

The third position in the school saw a tie between Kshitij Aggarwal and Ragini Khanna, with both scoring a super 95.4%. Both also have a common advice: To study sincerely and consistently. Kshitij, who wishes to be a computer coder, asserts, “Consistency and confidence played a key role in my result. I also solved a lot of previous year question papers which was a great training exercise. This took away all my anxieties and boosted my self-confidence.”

Ragini, who wants to become an architect, had the toughest of combinations – Medical with Math. She opines, “There is no secret to a great academic score. It is the end result of hard work and studying throughout the year. And don’t worry if you get low marks in the Pre-Board exams. Have faith that you will score much higher in the final board exams.”
