Mr. Salim Khan is the Senior Manager Finance with National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC). His daughter Tamanna is a class 10 student at Apeejay Schoool Faridabad.  In a brief interview, Mr Khan discusses how the school gives an equal weightage to both academics and extracurricular activities. Edited excerpts:

Why did you choose Apeejay Faridabad ahead of other schools for your child?

We shifted from Dadri to Faridabad. At that time we researched about a good school on various websites and through local references. Therefore, I wanted a school which focuses on the overall personality development of the child. A school where academics and extra-curricular are given equal weightage. Hence, I chose Apeejay Faridabad.

Please tell us a bit about Tamanna and take us through her progress at school?

Tamanna is above-average in academics. She is highly involved in Kathak and art activities such as drawing and sketching. She is a very calm and composed child and is doing well at school.

Are the teachers engaging well with the students?

The teachers are well-experienced and are teaching very well. All the teachers have been teaching with such persistent efforts in the online classes.

What is the best thing about Apeejay Faridabad?

For me, it is that the school has a balanced approach between academics and extra-curriculars. The teachers are very good. They know individually about the strengths and weaknesses of each and every student. Also, it was very easy to approach the Principal and the teachers. One can discuss any query freely with them.

How was the experience of the online classes for Tamanna?

It was excellent. She was able to understand everything and the classes were very timely. The teachers were doing their job with absolute honesty.

Now that the schools have reopened, is Tamanna excited to be back at the school premises?

We have shifted to Dadri again, so she is continuing with her online classes at the moment.
