Sangeeta Kumari works as an executive at Jivan Design company. Her daughter Anjani is a class 12 student at Apeejay Svran Global School. In a brief interview, the mother explains the reasons why her daughter prefers online classes and appreciates the teachers for going the extra mile for the students. Edited excerpts:

Why did you choose Apeejay Svran Global over other schools for Anjani’s admission?

It is the best school in Faridabad and so, I have been wanting to enroll Anjani in the school for a long time. I had tried earlier, but our financial condition was not very promising then. As our financial condition improved, I enrolled her in this school which happened when she was in class 9.

Please tell us a bit about Anjani and take us through her progress at school?

Anjani has not been able to attend school properly since she joined in class 9 and then for the next two years she had to attend the online classes due to the pandemic-induced lockdown. She is a good student, studying Commerce and Accounts is her favourite subject.  She loves listening to songs and follows the BTS band actively. She is a big fan of South Korean songs.

Are the teachers engaging well with the students?

The teachers at the school are very supportive. They teach very well. Anjani praises Kanika Dua ma’am a lot. She teaches her Business Studies and Accounts. She is also fond of her Economics teacher Manali ma’am, who teaches the subject so well.

What is the best thing about the school?

The teachers at the school are highly qualified and are very supportive. And they give the best possible education to the students. I have myself taught at many schools. I have changed 3-4 schools in Anjani’s case. But here, I have found a good environment for my daughter.

How has the experience of the online classes been for Anjani?

It was a very good experience. She was very comfortable with the online classes, it saved travel time as well. Now she is getting used to the physical classes. The teachers took the classes online, regularly and students could call their teachers even after the classes in case they had any doubts.

Now that the schools have reopened, is Anjani happy to be back at the school?

Students have stayed at home for two years and have grown accustomed to that. Now they have started going to school. It’s good since soon they will have to go to college as well. Anjani is gradually developing the habit of attending physical classes at school.
