Friendship Day Special-‘Best friend’: Poem by Geetika, Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar

A person who is a stranger to you at the beginning 

 But later becomes like a family member 

We were schoolmates, classmates but we never interacted

 Now we are in the same college and are of course best friends

Our friendship was totally unexpected.
Dear best friend, this is for you
People may come and go,
But, I will ask you to stay
Never let people judge us,
Stay with me and slay.

I will irritate you, no matter what you think
You told me not to do that

But I will still prank and wink

Meeting you was a coincidence again

 I would like to suggest you, to use your little brain

All I know is your truth,
Call me when you’re up,
Call me when you are down.
Don’t think and don’t frown

Time, by time,
I have grown in myself.
I tried because
You are the perfect human
For I cried for you
Thanks for having my back.

Just like this poem, I have tried to write 

My feelings for you are real and original.

 I will try to make this friendship real and rare.

Always and forever
I wish I could have more words to narrate

 But I couldn’t explain to you at this rate.

Thanks for not pretending.
