Mukund Sagar is very happy these days. And why should he not be? He has recently been placed at Hike Education, one of the leading Edtech companies working with the top B-schools to support and assist the students and therefore, Mukund is excited to soon join his first work place. In a quick interview, the Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar (ACFA) alumnus speaks about his time at the college, getting his first placement and more. Read on edited excerpts:
Which course did you pursue at ACFA? Was it in alignment with your aspirations?
I wanted to build my career in the field of accounting and I was looking for a top college for that. And the best institute in Jalandhar is Apeejay College of Fine Arts. Hence, I took admission there. My sister was already pursuing her B.Com Honours from ACFA. So with her support and the guidance of the faculty, I was able to do very well. I cracked campus placement and it is a really proud feeling.

How did the college placement cell groom you for the job interviews?
I was part of the SWA that stands for Student Welfare Organisation and the placement cell also. So, I was very active on campus and they did prepare us well. I was confident in every aspect, be it interview, group discussion or anything else.
Where do you see yourself in the next five years?
I want to see myself growing at Hike Education, doing well at a senior position. However, my ultimate passion is to become an entrepreneur. Had I not got this job, I would have then steered my career towards becoming a businessman.
Any advice for fellow students?
If you have a purpose and motive to achieve something in life, only then enroll yourself at ACFA. If you want to meander away then don’t. Utilise yourself, the college and the time towards being and doing something that counts.
