‘This Noida school is well-known in the education sector,’ says a parent

Megha Vats is a Science Teacher. While, her husband, Ramashraya Sharma, works for a private company in the semiconductor industry. Their son, Samarth Sharma, is enrolled in class 7 D at Apeejay School, Noida. In an interview, Mrs. Sharma highlights the factors a parent must consider while choosing a school for their child. Read edited excerpts:

What made you choose Apeejay School, Noida, for your child?

Apeejay Noida is a well-known institution in the education sector. The school is rich in academics along with extra-curricular activities, which helps in the grooming of the kids. They have good infrastructure and sports facilities, such as swimming, skating, badminton, etc., that match our expectations. Apeejay also promotes value-based education and the overall development of kids which is a plus point.

What is the most important lesson each parent must teach their child?

Every parent must teach their kids to respect elders and love younger ones. Inculcating these values in a child makes a her/him a kind and good human being as she/he grows. It helps in generating feelings of self-worth and empathy toward others. These values also teach a child to accept people irrespective of their caste, religion, or gender.

Tell us what you think about the way teachers conduct classes.

As per Samarth’s feedback, classes are more interactive and engaging. Teachers use different types of methodologies to clear the concepts while making the students feel less burdened. On top of that, they give feedback in detail about the kids at Parent Teacher Meetings. My son is very satisfied with the teachers and their approach with the topics.

What are the things that a parent must keep in mind while choosing a school?

A school that has a good learning environment, infrastructure, safety and security measures, academic success, involvement in extracurricular activities as well as a system that is crafted for continuous improvement, are some of the factors a parent must consider while choosing a school for their child.

How has your child’s learning progress been?

The school has a wonderful space for practice sports like cricket and swimming. I feel Samarth must utilise that space and further indulge himself in extra-curricular activities. In terms of academics, he is doing well.

Apeejay believes in the overall development of children. Is your child also learning moral values and etiquette?

I agree and can see the development of moral values in my child. Thanks to Apeejay for inculcating these values in a child as it helps in building their character. Moral values like respect, honesty, kindness, gratitude, sharing, and many more make a child a good citizen of the country.
