The students of Apeejay School, Nerul, Navi Mumbai have performed exemplarily in the class 12 Board exams. Out of 112 students, 53 scored 90% and above while 103 students scored 75% and above in the results announced on July 30
Deepsna Panda topped the school with 98.2% in the Science stream. Deepsna, who scored 99 in Physics and Biology, says early preparation is the key to success. “I maintained a study schedule and followed it strictly to make it a habit. There’s no point in making a study schedule if you don’t stick to it. I used to set myself daily targets and achieve them without fail. In the first-half of the day I used to focus on weak subjects while the second half was reserved for subjects I was comfortable with.”
Panda also emphasised upon the importance of solving sample papers before the exams and getting doubts cleared by teachers. She is now focused on getting a good rank in NEET-UG 2021.
The second topper of school, Anantshree Pandey, got 98% and scored a perfect 100 in Maths and 99 in Physics. He gave tips to ace the CBSE class 12 Maths exam with full marks. “Learn to solve a problem in multiple ways. This will expand your horizons and boost your confidence. Understand the fundamentals of the formulas; usually, they are all based on a single conceptual framework. The more you practice answering Maths problems, the better. ”
Juggling between preparations of Boards exams and JEE is often a daunting task. According to Anantshree, “Strong fundamentals are the key to success in both Boards as well as JEE. While preparing for your Boards, focus on understanding the concepts. This will aid you in JEE as well.”
Pandey, who is aspiring to secure a seat in IITs this academic season, said it’s important to indulge in some sort of physical activity as this refreshes the mind and increases productivity.
For Ananya Tickoo, the topper from commerce stream with 96.8 %, consistency is the key. “Have a schedule and study regularly, especially Maths and Accountancy. I would also like to thank my school for the smooth transition to online learning. The teachers too gave their all for students.”
She also emphasised upon the importance of de-stressing. “A relaxed and stress-free mind is more efficient to absorb and retain a piece of information.” She is now eyeing Delhi University for her graduation.
Aarush Sajit Kumar stood second in the Commerce stream with 96.4 %. Sharing his success mantra, Kumar said, “Start studying early in the morning. Study the most important and challenging material first. My evenings were reserved for solving mock question papers. Importantly, get good sleep before exam day.”
Kumar has secured a good rank in CLAT (Common Law Admission Test), a national level entrance test for admissions to 22 National Law Universities in India. “I got interested in law when I was in class 11 and in class 12 I decided to go with Law. I am also inspired by my maternal grandfather, who was a lawyer. He used to practice in Thiruvananthapuram District Court. I plan to become a corporate lawyer.”
The results this year are more genuine as they incorporate the marks of classes 10, 11 and 12. Due to the pandemic, the syllabus has been slashed so that students have more time to devote to the fundamentals of subjects. Research-based teaching has also been given a fresh lease of life due to Covid.

Apeejay School, Nerul has a rich legacy of excellent board results from the time it was established in 1986. We conducted smooth online classes and Instead of one, we conducted two-preliminary board exams. We called the students who needed more empowerment to take the second preliminary board exam in school. In the end, I would say, success is not an activity, but a process.
