Recently, Apeejay School, Model Town, Jalandhar, hosted AYMUN 2.0 on October 16 and 17, 2026, bringing together around 400 delegates from schools across the region. The two-day Model United Nations conference gave students an opportunity to discuss global issues, exchange perspectives, and develop skills in research, communication and leadership.

Day 1: Inauguration sets the stage for dialogue

The conference began on October 16 with an inaugural ceremony attended by Chief Guest CA Nirmal Mahajan, Board of Governors Member, Apeejay Education Society.

The opening day introduced delegates to a platform where discussions and debates encouraged them to think critically about contemporary issues. The conference aimed to promote diplomacy, confidence and responsible global citizenship through meaningful participation and collaboration.

Delegates participated in sessions across eight committees: MUN Got Latent, Indian Premier League (IPL), Lok Sabha, Daastaan-e-Cinema, United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW), International Press (IP), and BADDIE vs SIGMA.

The proceedings saw students present arguments, question different viewpoints and explore possible solutions. Each committee offered opportunities to practise negotiation, teamwork and effective communication.

Closing Ceremony: Recognising achievements and celebrating participation

The conference concluded with a closing ceremony that combined cultural performances with the recognition of outstanding delegates.

Energetic Luddi and Bhangra performances brought Punjabi culture to the celebrations. Committee members presented Best Delegate and High Commendation certificates to participants recognised for their performance and debating skills.
