Debate, painting, song and dance filled the campus of Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri as the school hosted the Dr. Stya Paul Memorial Inter-School Competition. A total of 172 students from 12 schools across the region took part in the two-day event. The event was held in memory of Dr. Stya Paul, Founder Chairman of the Apeejay Education Society. The theme was ‘Roots and Wings.’
The event opened with a lamp-lighting ceremony (diya-pujan), performed to invoke blessings for wisdom and enlightenment. Principal Dr. Vineet Vasishtha welcomed the judges, visiting dignitaries, escort teachers and student delegates.
“The Dr. Stya Paul Memorial Inter-School Competition stands as a glowing tribute to our
Founder Chairman’s enduring legacy of empowering youth through holistic education. The passion witnessed in debating, fine arts, music, and dance reflects the radiant future of our nation. I extend my heartiest congratulations to every participant and educator who made this grand gathering a resounding celebration of talent, intellect, and character,” said Dr. Vineet Vasishtha, Principal, Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri.

Day One: Debate and Fine Arts
The first day was given to intellectual and artistic expression. In the debate competition, students argued contemporary issues across different age categories. The school said they did so with clarity and conviction. At the same time, the fine arts competition turned the auditorium gallery into a canvas, with young artists presenting ideas through colour and design.
Day Two: The Performing Arts
October 13 was devoted to performance. The solo singing competition brought soulful melodies, classical ragas and uplifting compositions to the stage. The solo dance competition followed, with participants presenting classical, folk and contemporary styles marked by expressive choreography and rhythmic precision.

The panel of judges described the standard of talent as high. The panel said that evaluating the performances was a challenging but rewarding task.
At the valedictory ceremony, trophies and certificates were presented to all participating schools and contestants, recognising their dedication and sportsmanship. The event closed with a call to young participants to keep pursuing excellence in the spirit of Dr. Stya Paul, whom the school described as a visionary educator and philanthropist.
