Saving lives begins when people choose to help
Blood donation camp at Apeejay School, Model Town, inspires the community to unite and save lives
Recently, Apeejay School, Model Town, Jalandhar, organised a Blood Donation Camp in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society. At its heart, the camp turned concern for others into meaningful action. The initiative brought together teachers, parents, alumni, and members of the community for a cause that directly supports patients in need. It also reflected the school’s focus on compassion, social responsibility, and service.
The camp was inaugurated by Ms Amninder Kaur Brar, PCS, ADC General, Jalandhar. Speaking on the occasion, she appreciated the school’s effort and highlighted the life-saving importance of voluntary blood donation.
The camp was organised under the guidance of Shri Surjit Lal, Secretary, Red Cross Society. It received an overwhelming response from voluntary donors who came forward with a common purpose. Their participation showed how a community can work together when a meaningful cause calls for support.
Recognising the donors
Dr Rajesh Kumar Chandel, Principal of Apeejay School, Model Town, congratulated and appreciated all the blood donors. He also thanked the Red Cross Society and everyone involved in organising the camp successfully.
He noted that such initiatives help instil empathy, service, and responsible citizenship within the school community. They also encourage people to look beyond their individual lives and understand how one thoughtful action can support another person during a medical emergency.
A lesson beyond the classroom
The blood donation camp was not only an act of service. It also offered students a clear example of how social responsibility works in practice. By seeing teachers, parents, alumni, and community members participate, students could understand that citizenship is built through action.
