A comprehensive familiarisation session for the new batch at Apeejay School of Management

Apeejay School of Management (ASM), Dwarka, continued its Orientation Programme for the newly inducted PGDM 2026–2028 batch with a series of insightful sessions designed to familiarise students with the institute’s academic ecosystem, professional expectations, and campus culture. The programme provided a comprehensive introduction to management education while equipping students with the knowledge, values, and skills required to excel in their academic and professional journeys.

The day commenced with an inspiring address by Dr. Srirang Jha, who introduced students to the vision and mission of Apeejay School of Management. Highlighting the institution’s commitment to nurturing globally competent, socially responsible, and ethically grounded business leaders, he emphasised the importance of innovation, critical thinking, and value-based learning. Encouraging students to make the most of their management education, Dr. Jha urged them to align their academic journey with the institution’s core values and aspirations.

One of the highlights of the programme was an engaging alumni interaction session featuring Ms. Himangi Gogia, Mr. Deepak Bajaj, Ms. Kajal Kumari, and Mr. Aditya Anand Jha. Sharing experiences from their professional journeys, the alumni stressed the importance of personal branding, continuous learning, professional networking, confidence, adaptability, and maintaining a growth mindset in today’s competitive corporate environment. Moderated by Dr. Shweta Jha, the interactive discussion provided students with practical insights into navigating their careers successfully.

To familiarise students with the institute’s learning resources, Dr. Shweta Jha and Mr. S. K. Jha conducted a comprehensive orientation on the library and online research facilities. Students were introduced to library rules, borrowing procedures, and the extensive collection of books, journals, and magazines. The session also demonstrated the use of DELNET and other online research databases, enabling students to effectively access scholarly resources for academic and research purposes.

An informative session on the functioning of the Programme Office was conducted by Dr. Srirang Jha, Dr. Pragya Arya, and Prof. Saumya Satija, who explained academic schedules, examinations, attendance policies, and student-related administrative processes. They also provided a detailed overview of the curriculum structure for both years of the PGDM programme, helping students understand academic expectations from the outset.

Addressing the evaluation framework, Dr. Usha Ravi explained the institute’s continuous assessment system, end-term examination policies, evaluation criteria, and academic regulations. The session provided students with a clear understanding of the assessment process and encouraged them to maintain consistency throughout the programme.

Recognising the importance of workplace readiness, Dr. Chhaya Wadhwa conducted an insightful session on Business Etiquette and Executive Presence, highlighting the significance of professional communication, workplace behaviour, executive presence, and confidence in building successful corporate careers.

Dr. Usha Ravi also conducted a session on the Code of Conduct and Institutional Discipline, emphasising integrity, professionalism, punctuality, and mutual respect as the cornerstones of the institute’s culture. Students were introduced to institutional rules and ethical standards designed to foster a positive learning environment.

Promoting a safe and inclusive campus, Dr. Shweta Jha led an awareness session on Anti-Ragging, explaining prohibited behaviours, institutional policies, reporting mechanisms, and the committees responsible for addressing grievances. Complementing this, Dr. Preeti Suryawanshi sensitised students about the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act, outlining students’ rights and responsibilities while introducing the Internal Committee responsible for ensuring a secure campus environment.

Students were also introduced to Moodle, the institute’s Learning Management System, through a session conducted by Dr. Chhaya Wadhwa and Prof. Saumya Satija. The demonstration familiarised them with accessing study material, submitting assignments, and managing academic activities digitally.

The Orientation Programme concluded with a guided campus tour, allowing students to explore classrooms, the library, administrative offices, and other key facilities. Their educational documents were also collected and verified, ensuring a smooth transition into academic life. The thoughtfully curated programme successfully laid a strong foundation for the incoming batch, reaffirming ASM’s commitment to nurturing competent, ethical, and industry-ready management professionals.
