Cultural competitions provide children with an opportunity to explore their talents beyond the classroom while strengthening their confidence and connection with their roots. Such platforms encourage creativity, discipline, and appreciation for India’s rich traditions, helping young learners grow into confident and culturally aware individuals.
Apeejay School, Tanda Road, Jalandhar, celebrated a proud moment as Class V student Samriddhi Sharma brought laurels to the school by securing the third prize in the 6–11 years age category at the Solo Bhangra & Giddha Cup Competition – Rang Punjabi Season 3. The event, organised by CT University on June 27, witnessed enthusiastic participation from young performers who showcased Punjab’s vibrant folk traditions through energetic dance performances.
Samriddhi impressed the judges with her graceful expressions, rhythmic precision, and confident stage presence. Her performance reflected not only her talent but also the dedication and consistent effort she invested in preparing for the competition. Competing against participants from various schools and institutions, she displayed remarkable poise and enthusiasm, earning appreciation from both the audience and the judging panel.
In recognition of her outstanding achievement, Samriddhi was awarded a cash prize of ₹2,100, making the accomplishment even more memorable. Her success stands as a testament to the importance of encouraging students to pursue their interests beyond academics and excel in co-curricular activities.

The school community celebrated the achievement with immense pride. The school Principal, Dr Rajesh Kumar Chandel and In-charge, Ms Simranjit Kaur, congratulated Samriddhi on her impressive performance and applauded her commitment to excellence. They wished her continued success in all her future endeavours and encouraged her to keep nurturing her passion for dance.
Speaking on the occasion, the school reiterated its belief that cultural activities play a vital role in holistic education. Competitions like these not only preserve the rich heritage of traditional art forms such as Bhangra and Giddha but also help students develop confidence, discipline, teamwork, and resilience. Performing on competitive platforms enables children to overcome stage fright, embrace healthy competition, and represent their schools with pride.
Samriddhi’s accomplishment has become a source of inspiration for her peers, demonstrating that dedication, perseverance, and passion can lead to remarkable success. The entire Apeejay School family applauded her achievement and looked forward to witnessing many more milestones in her journey as she continues to shine through her talent and determination.
