Magic of Kindness: Poem by Srija Sengupta, Apeejay School, Pitampura

Smiling face has the charm and magical power,
That heals a wound and wipes out rolling tears,
Kind words gently give a blow,
That eradicates pain and restores the inner glow.
Being polite, soft, quiet and calm,
To the pain it works like a balm,
This virtue of kindness begins at home with care,
Gradually from a sapling it blooms which is indeed rare.
There is no strength and dignity in hurting others,
Real courage is in forgiveness and love that we can easily gather,
It is an extreme pleasure to help the needy,
But to accomplish this, very few are always ready.
Kindness is a vibrant rainbow in a cloudy sky,
That removes spirit’s melancholy and let them fly,
Helping hands are always great and fine,
As it makes our heart glow and shine.
Humiliating others is not a sign of maturity,
Rather it maligns the soul and increases impurity,
An aiding hand and caring heart,
Is like an oasis amidst a harsh desert.
Tender words and a gentle call,
Is a melodious hymn that soothes us all,
Let us plant the seeds of compassion, empathy and kindness,
To spread everyone the magic of happiness.
It will build a world of Utopia,
Where there will be no stress and phobia,
It will weave the tapestry of hope,
Where people will lead a life with brighter scope
