Two talented orators from Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, recently brought pride to the school and parents by excelling in a district-level competition. Ali Hasnain and Aarav Madan showcased remarkable elocution skills, captivating the audience with their powerful and articulate speeches on the assigned topic. Their confident delivery, expressive style, and command over language left a lasting impression, earning them a well-deserved second-place finish.
Speaking about his experience at the event, Aarav shared, “I recently participated in the district-level debate competition and secured the second position. It was a great experience for me because I got the chance to speak on an important topic and present my ideas in front of a large audience. This achievement has really boosted my confidence and motivated me to work even harder in future competitions.”
“The topic given was about whether all citizens should have a Universal Basic Income (UBI). I spoke for the motion because I believe everyone deserves basic financial security and a fair chance in life, and that’s exactly what UBI aims to provide,” added Ali.
The achievement was no mean feat, and both Aarav and I tackled several challenges. “I had a fever on the day of the competition, so staying focused was tough. Another challenge was framing a strong conclusion, as my content relied more on moral reasoning than logical arguments,” Ali said.
While Aarav expressed that, “One of the biggest challenges was managing my nervousness, as I was competing with many experienced speakers from other schools. I also had to make sure my arguments were strong, well-researched, and delivered within the time limit. Balancing clarity, confidence, and content was not easy, but I tried my best to stay calm and focused.”
Both students have received unwavering support from their school, to which they owe their success. “Apeejay School supported me throughout this journey by giving me constant encouragement and guidance. My teachers helped me strengthen my content and improve my delivery. The school’s supportive environment really boosted my confidence and played a big role in my achievement,” expressed Aarav, a Class IX student.
“My school teachers guided me on delivery and presentation. Their feedback helped me improve my overall presentation and be more compelling in speaking. Having the school’s support helped me concentrate on performing my best,” said Ali, a Class IX student, on a concluding note.
