Apeejay School, Saket, recently came alive with the colours of the French flag as it celebrated Bastille Day, France’s National Day, on July 16, 2025, with great enthusiasm and cultural pride. The celebration was a vibrant display of student talent, linguistic proficiency, and global citizenship, aligning beautifully with the school’s ethos of holistic education and international awareness.
The event was honoured by the presence of Ms. Rose Laviale, Programme Assistant to Ms Julia Trouilloud from the Books and Ideas Department at the French Institute in India. Her presence added an international dimension to the celebration and motivated students to further explore the French language and culture. Ms Laviale interacted warmly with the students and commended the school for fostering intercultural learning through such engaging platforms.
Learning Through Celebration
The programme was designed to highlight the core ideals of the French Revolution, Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité, which were creatively interpreted by students through impressive performances.
The courtyard was adorned with French-themed decorations, including balloons in blue, white, and red; national flags; and student-made posters showcasing famous French monuments and artists. This visual storytelling helped younger students engage with historical and cultural concepts in a more immersive way.

A heartwarming performance came from students dressed in elegant white frocks, who danced gracefully to the rhythm of French tunes. The audience thunderously applauded their performance, symbolising innocence and joy.
Interactive and inspirational takeaways
As a token of appreciation, Ms Laviale was presented with a plant sapling, a gesture symbolising sustainable growth and lifelong learning.
At Apeejay School, Saket, such events are not just celebrations; they are platforms for active learning, skill development, and cultural curiosity. Bastille Day 2025 allowed students to move beyond textbooks and connect meaningfully with the French language and its values.
The school continues to inspire students to become global citizens, equipped with empathy, knowledge, and respect for diversity.
