84% say AI won’t replace low-code and no-code tools

The 2025 App Development Trends Report, conducted by market research firm Dynata, highlights the increasing reliance on low-code and no-code solutions. According to the report, 95% of companies used these tools for software development in the past year, emphasising their critical role in modern business operations.
The findings show that low-code and no-code platforms significantly reduce development time and costs. Ninety-eight per cent (98%) of tech leaders reported time savings, with 78% cutting development time by up to 50%. Cost savings are also substantial — 62% of companies using these tools have reduced software development expenses, and 10% report cutting costs by more than half.
Businesses increasingly adopt low-code and no-code solutions to enhance productivity and meet unique operational needs. While 37% of tech leaders prioritise improving developer productivity, 29% use these tools to create custom applications tailored to specific company requirements. Other key benefits include allowing developers to focus on strategic work (25%) and reducing manual errors (19%).
As companies continue integrating emerging technologies, the report suggests that low-code and no-code solutions will remain essential. Tech leaders are urged to embrace automation while ensuring their teams evolve and upskill to keep pace with advancements.
