The GDP Foundation Second Semester students successfully completed a creative Mosaic Project under the mentorship of Ms.Anjali Taneja and Mr.N. Rajeshwar Singh. The project was designed to encourage teamwork, creativity, planning, and hands-on learning through the process of creating a mosaic artwork.
The entire class was divided into four groups, allowing students to work collaboratively and contribute equally to the project. The process began with detailed discussions and brainstorming sessions where students explored ideas, themes, and design possibilities.
After careful consideration, the final layout was selected and prepared collectively. Once the layout was finalized, the students moved on to the colour application stage. The chosen design was carefully coloured to create a clear visual reference for the mosaic execution. This step helped in understanding the placement of colours and maintaining harmony in the final composition. The next stage involved selecting suitable tiles according to the design and colour scheme. The tiles were then carefully broken into smaller pieces to fit the required shapes and patterns of the layout. This process demanded patience, precision, and coordination among all group members. Each student actively participated in arranging and pasting the broken tile pieces onto the plyboard, ensuring that the final work reflected both accuracy and creativity.
One of the most challenging aspects of the project was the execution and display of the final artwork. Students had to think creatively to transform the space into an effective display area that would enhance the presentation of the mosaic. Through innovative planning and problem-solving, they successfully created a dedicated display space that highlighted the beauty and effort behind the work.

The project became a strong example of teamwork, where every student contributed with dedication and responsibility. It helped them understand the importance of collaboration, artistic expression, and practical execution.
The final outcome was not only visually impressive but also reflected the collective effort, creativity, and learning experience of the students. The Mosaic Project stands as a meaningful and successful achievement for the GDP Foundation Second Semester, showcasing both artistic skill and the spirit of collaborative learning.
Sharing her thoughts, Aanchal Mishra of GDP Foundation studying in her second semester expressed, “My first experience with mosaic work was completely new for me, as I had no prior knowledge or practice in it. However, it turned out to be a very enjoyable and valuable experience. This was a group project, where we worked together as a team. Initially, we created a drawing, which we then transferred onto a plyboard. After that, we carefully broke tiles into smaller pieces and arranged them on the board according to our design, gradually forming a beautiful mosaic. The process was quite tricky and required patience and precision.”
She further mentioned, “Once the tiles were properly placed, we applied white cement to complete the mosaic and give it a finished look. Our entire project was successfully completed with the guidance and support of our faculty. They helped us at every step, answered all our questions, and stayed with us throughout the process, which was a great support. Through this project, we learned many new skills and gained hands-on experience in mosaic making.”

Another student Anchal Jain said, “Creating the mosaic artwork was a truly enjoyable and memorable experience for me and my two group members, Md Asad and Bhavik. From the very beginning, the process strengthened our teamwork and gave us the opportunity to express our creativity together. It allowed us to collaborate, share ideas, and contribute equally toward achieving a beautiful final outcome.”
Sharing the experience further she mentioned, “We started by carefully drawing the design on a board. This step required patience and teamwork, as we all contributed ideas and helped refine the sketch to make sure everything looked balanced and clear. Once the outline was ready, the real fun began. Next, we worked with different coloured tiles. We carefully broke them into smaller pieces, which was both exciting and a bit challenging. Each of us took responsibility for different sections, selecting colours that matched the drawing. Slowly, piece by piece, we pasted the tiles onto the board, watching our artwork come to life. It was satisfying to see how the broken pieces formed a beautiful image when placed together. After completing the tile work, we moved on to filling the gaps. We used white cement to fill the spaces between the tiles, making the surface smooth and complete. To enhance the final look, we added a bit of colour to the cement, which gave the mosaic a more vibrant and finished appearance. Overall, the entire process was full of fun, learning, and teamwork. We faced small challenges, but working together made everything easier and more enjoyable. In the end, we felt proud of what we created as a group, and this experience will always remain special to us.”
