‘The Banyan Tree’: Poem by Krishiv Majumder,  Apeejay School, Saket

A young boy sitting under a Banyan tree
Wondering why life is a misery you see
Cold winds blew all over the place
Whilst all this a leaf fell over his head
Tenderly apprising him of something
Life is the treasure of emotions
Each bringing a colour of it’s own
There are
Seasons of joy
Seasons of love
Seasons of sadness
Seasons of anger
Seasons of pain
But if you don’t go through them you aren’t living truly
Take it from an old Banyan tree
A tree who can withstand all the seasons is the one that
grows
It’s all God’s plan and it will all work out the tree knows
Leaves may shed during the autumn like me
New ones even better will grow in winters honestly
Never let go of your roots
Or you shall wither
Keep them intact
Because they will help you in bad weather
Soon the fruits of your resilience will reap
That day you will thank for what you did
The boy stopped to weep
Wanting to stand strong like the old Banyan tree
Life is not a misery
But worth going through indeed
He then went to sleep
In the shade of the
Majestic Banyan tree
