Akshat Gupta, a talented Class 8 student from Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, secured the second position in the prestigious Annual Computer Symposium-CODE 2024-25 organised by Apeejay School, Noida.

The event saw participation from over 40 schools across Delhi-NCR, Meerut, and Bulandshahr. The two-day event provided a dynamic platform for students to showcase their technical skills and creativity in a wide range of competitions such as gaming, coding, and digital innovation. Akshat’s journey to the podium was a delightful surprise to him, and his achievement serves as a testament to his determination, the support of his teachers, and the holistic approach to learning at Apeejay. How did you feel about securing the second position at CODE 2024?

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting to win because my teacher, Nidhi ma’am, told me about the competition just a day before. Although I love programming, I hadn’t practised in a while. But I’m glad she encouraged me to participate because I ended up securing second place, which was a delightful surprise.

Could you tell us more about the event and your project?

We had to create a 2D game using basic controls like up, down, left, and right keys. The game needed a scoring and health system, along with obstacles for the main character to face. I found the scoring system a bit challenging, but I managed to figure it out. During my presentation, I focused on keeping things simple and clear for the judges.
