Students from Apeejay School, Noida, participated in the CBSE Zonal-1 Competition 2024-25. The event to promote competitive spirit and showcase the swimming talents of young athletes.
Shaurya Baloni, a student of Class 10-A, competed in multiple events and excelled by winning several medals in swimming. He secured a silver medal in the 800m Freestyle, a silver medal in the 100m Backstroke, and bronze medals in the 400m Freestyle and 200m Freestyle. Shaurya also achieved 4th position in the 200m Individual Medley. His outstanding performance highlights his dedication and skill in swimming.
Wamika Kapoor from Class 9-C also showcased her talent at the competition. She participated in various events and earned multiple accolades in swimming. Wamika won silver medals in both the 100m Butterfly and 200m Butterfly, along with a bronze medal in the 200m Breaststroke and a silver medal in the 400m Individual Medley. Her achievements reflect her hard work and commitment to the sport.


Ms. Asha Pathania, the swimming teacher at Apeejay School, Noida, expressed her pride, saying, “As a teacher, seeing students represent in National competitions is an immensely proud and fulfilling experience. It signifies the students’ dedication, hard work, and creates a culture of aspiration and excellence within the school.”
Additionally, Swayam Vaidya of Class 12-F represented the school in the CBSE North Zone-1 Boxing Championship, held at Social Baluni Public School, Dehradun, from September 10 to 15, 2024. Swayam won a silver medal in the Under-17 (Boys) 80+ kg weight category, earning a spot in the National Level competition. His success adds to the school’s legacy of promoting excellence in sports.
Ms. Pathania further added, “CBSE sports competitions provide a platform for students to showcase their talents at various levels, which can help them pursue a career in sports. These competitions instil values such as perseverance, hard work, and sportsmanship. Most importantly, students learn to handle both success and failure gracefully.”





The participation of these students not only brought recognition to Apeejay School but also encouraged their peers to pursue sports seriously. The event was a significant opportunity for the students to gain experience, build confidence, and inspire others.
