On the occasion of the 105th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Stya Paul, the Department of Physiotherapy at Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA), Jalandhar, organised a blood donation camp in collaboration with Sacred Heart Hospital. Dr. Neerja Dhingra, Principal of ACFA, highlighted “Dr. Stya Paul is a true karmayogi and social worker who is known for his deeply valued societal contributions.” She also emphasised the importance of students experiencing the joy of giving through blood donation, which can unknowingly save lives.
A total of 40 individuals, including students and faculty from various departments, enthusiastically participated in the blood donation camp, demonstrating a strong sense of social responsibility. Dr. Dhingra commended the initiative, lauding the efforts of Dr. Neeraj Katyal, Head of the Physiotherapy Department, and Dr. Nitika Gupta for organising the event. She encouraged them to continue their noble work in promoting community welfare.
The camp served not only as a platform for blood donation but also as an educational opportunity for students to understand the significance of contributing to society and humanity. Dr. Dhingra reiterated that initiatives like this are essential for nurturing the moral and ethical values in students, reflecting the college’s commitment to shaping well-rounded individuals.

This event, held in honour of Dr. Stya Paul’s legacy, effectively instilled the value of selflessness and service in the participants, aligning with his vision of compassion and generosity. Tejas, a second year student, highlighted, “The recent blood donation camp organised at my college was a great experience as it was my second time with the Sacred Heart Hospital. The staff’s care and professionalism made the process comfortable and I felt fulfilled.” Knowing that my contribution could make a difference in someone’s life added a deep personal sense of satisfaction to my experience.”
Another student Taranpreet Kaur expressed, “The blood donation drive at my college was
well-organised and fulfilling event. The process was smooth, and the staff ensured we were comfortable throughout. It felt rewarding to contribute to the noble cause, knwoing my small effort could help save lives. Overall, it was a humbling and enriching experience as I have donated I have donated blood for the first time.”
Khushi being a student of the physiotherapy department shared that she understands the importance of improving and saving lives. “I have always had keen interest in doing social work. I fulfilled my desire when my college organised this camp. I was anxious and excited at the same time,” she mentioned.
The success of the blood donation camp marked another milestone in Apeejay College’s efforts to foster community engagement and awareness among its students.
