Celebrating cultural and religious festivals in schools plays a pivotal role in fostering a sense of community and cultural awareness among students. Such events provide students with a deeper understanding of their traditions and the values associated with them, enriching their educational experience and promoting inclusivity.
Keeping this in mind, Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, embraced the festive spirit of Ganesh Chaturthi. The celebration began with a grand procession, where the Ganesh idol was ceremoniously escorted to the school by students, teachers, and the Principal. The lively procession, accompanied by chants of Ganpati Bappa Morya, created an immersive and joyous atmosphere from the school gate to the main premises.

The Ganesh idol was then placed in a meticulously decorated area within the school, radiating an aura of reverence and auspiciousness. The community then gathered for the traditional aarti, a ritualistic offering of light to the deity, which echoed throughout the school, enveloping everyone in a profound sense of devotion. Following the aarti, prasad was distributed to all attendees, symbolising the divine blessings of Lord Ganesha.
Dr Vineet Vasishtha, the Principal of the school then addressed the students and staff, elaborating on the significance of Ganesh Chaturthi. He highlighted Lord Ganesha’s revered role as the remover of obstacles and the deity of wisdom, urging everyone to seek his blessings for success and prosperity in their pursuits.

The celebrations are set to continue for 10 days, featuring daily rituals and devotional activities. The festival will culminate on September 17, 2024, with the immersion of the Ganesh idol in water, marking the end of the festivities. The school community eagerly anticipates the remaining days of celebration, filled with devotion and joy, as they honour Lord Ganesh and embrace the festival’s spiritual and cultural essence.
