Gandhi Jayanti at Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, was celebrated with enthusiasm and reverence, introducing its youngest learners to the life, values and ideals of Mahatma Gandhi. The celebration was organised for students from nursery to Class II and focused on making the occasion meaningful, engaging and age-appropriate.

The young learners participated wholeheartedly in a range of activities that brought the spirit of the day alive. Dressed in colourful and meaningful costumes, the children added vibrancy to the school campus while expressing their creativity and enthusiasm. Their confident participation and cheerful expressions reflected the joy of learning through experience.

Through interactive discussions and presentations, the students were introduced to the values associated with Mahatma Gandhi, including truth, non-violence, cleanliness, kindness, simplicity and respect for others. Teachers explained these principles through simple, relatable examples from everyday life, helping children understand how small actions such as speaking the truth, helping others, keeping their surroundings clean and treating everyone with kindness can make a meaningful difference.

The celebration also encouraged students to look beyond textbooks and connect an important chapter of India’s history with their own daily lives. The activities provided them with an opportunity to express themselves creatively while developing an appreciation for the values and principles that shaped Mahatma Gandhi’s life.

The school Principal, Dr Vineet Vasishtha, appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the students and commended the teachers for making the celebration meaningful. “Gandhi Jayanti reminds us that values such as truth, non-violence, simplicity, kindness, and cleanliness begin with small actions. I am delighted to see our young learners participating enthusiastically in the celebration through colourful attire and meaningful activities. I appreciate the sincere efforts of our teachers and the enthusiastic participation of our students. May our children imbibe Gandhiji’s ideals and grow into responsible, compassionate and conscientious citizens,” Dr Vasishtha shared.

The celebration concluded on an inspiring note, reminding the young learners that Gandhiji’s teachings are not merely part of history but values that can be practised every day. The event beautifully blended learning, creativity, patriotism and character-building, making Gandhi Jayanti a memorable experience for the students.
