Urgent call to action: Preserving the environment is the need of the hour

The topic I am discussing should not be taken lightly, and in my opinion, deserves more attention. I have made an effort to make a difference, although my efforts may be futile if we do not act together immediately. The environment, which encompasses all living and
non-living organisms and natural occurrences, is often admired for its beauty. However, we are also the destroyers of it. This is not a new issue; various news articles and videos highlight how we regularly harm the environment. Nevertheless, this article is not only about the problems but also the solutions.

Let’s first focus on the problems. Trees, one of the most vital sources of the oxygen we breathe and the wood we use for shelter, have not been treated as they should be. Shockingly, a football field’s worth of trees is chopped down every single second, and 48 football fields are lost every minute. An astonishing 15 billion trees are cut down every year, and if this continues, we will run out of trees in about 300 years.
Now, let’s turn our attention to the solutions. The internet is a powerful tool for communication and helping people. It is an excellent platform to initiate change, as demonstrated by Team Trees. In 2019, YouTube content creator and philanthropist MrBeast, along with science YouTuber Mark Rober, launched an initiative called Team Trees to raise $20 million to plant 20 million trees. It was a tremendous success, with the internet and even billionaires like Elon Musk contributing to the cause. The Team Trees website is still active, and you can make donations at teamtrees.org.
I conclude this article on a hopeful note, looking forward for a better future.
