World Heart Day at Apeejay Svran Global School, Faridabad, Sector 21 D, brought together physical activity and health awareness, helping students understand how everyday choices can contribute to better heart health. The activities encouraged students to look at heart care not simply as a medical concern, but as something connected with regular movement, awareness and timely action.

Movement for a healthy heart

Students began the occasion with an energetic Zumba session. The activity highlighted the importance of regular physical exercise and its role in maintaining a healthy heart.

The session also gave students a practical way to connect the message of World Heart Day with their daily lives. Rather than limiting the discussion to information alone, the activity placed physical movement at the centre of the day.

Learning from medical experts

As part of an Interact Club initiative, students also visited Fortis Escorts Hospital. There, they attended an informative session conducted by Dr Kamal Gupta, Additional Director, Department of Cardiology.

The session focused on ways to maintain a healthy heart and recognise warning signs linked to heart-related problems. Students also learnt about the immediate steps that should be taken during a cardiac emergency.

The cardiology team explained three important health checks that adults should undergo periodically to monitor their heart health. The discussion gave students a clearer understanding of preventive care and the value of regular health monitoring.

The session remained interactive, with students asking questions and sharing their concerns. Members of the cardiology team addressed these queries, making the learning experience more relevant and easier to understand.

Through both fitness and medical awareness, the World Heart Day activities gave students useful knowledge about heart health. The experience also reinforced the value of prevention, awareness and timely medical intervention.
