His fondest memories are of the friendships he formed, the school trips they went on and, of course, the countless moments spent in the school canteen and auditorium. What makes these memories even more special is that the canteen and auditorium are still there today, evoking the same sense of nostalgia. Meet Dhruva Arora (batch 2003), an alumnus of Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, whose sons Adhiraj Arora (Class V) and Angad Arora (Class I) are also studying at the same school.
In an impromptu interview, this alumnus-parent shares why he chose the same school for his sons, among other things.

How did the school influence your values, personality and approach to life?
The school gave me the confidence to believe in myself, taught me the importance of teamwork and nurtured my curiosity to continue learning and exploring. These values have stayed with me well beyond my school years.
What inspired you to choose the same school for your sons?
Having had such a positive experience myself, Apeejay was a natural choice for my sons. I particularly value the school’s ability to maintain a healthy balance between academics, sports and co-curricular activities, enabling children to grow into well-rounded individuals.
How did you feel when your sons joined the school you once attended?
It was an incredibly emotional and proud moment. Seeing my sons walk into the same school where I had spent some of the most formative years of my life brought back a flood of memories. It made me realise just how special this connection is.
From an alumnus’ perspective, what changes have you noticed in the school over the years?
The school has evolved tremendously, particularly in terms of its infrastructure, sports facilities and overall scale. One of the most noticeable and welcome changes has been the way it communicates and engages with parents. The openness, accessibility and regular communication make parents feel much more connected to their children’s school journey.
Are there any traditions, values or experiences from your school days that you hope your sons will also enjoy?
Absolutely. I hope my sons experience the same lifelong friendships, annual events, sports, school trips and meaningful relationships with teachers that I did. Most importantly, I hope they develop the same sense of independence and belonging that made my years at the school so special.
What would you like to tell your sons when they are old enough to understand the special connection you share with the school?
One day, I want you to understand that this is the institution that helped shape the father you know and love. It played a vital role in making me who I am and influencing how I approach life. I hope your journey here becomes just as meaningful and memorable as mine was.
