Different schools offer varying levels of education quality. The right school will provide a strong academic curriculum, experienced and qualified teachers, modern teaching methods, and access to resources that enhance the learning experience. A good education equips students with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in their academic pursuits.
The school a child attends can have a lasting impact on their personality, outlook, and future opportunities. Investing time and effort in choosing the right school can set the stage for a successful and fulfilling life ahead.
However, for entrepreneur Mohit Sharma, choosing the perfect school for his son, Neil, was never a chore. Being an alma mater of Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg helped this parent make an easy decision when it was time for Neil, who has recently gone to class II at Apeejay School, Model Town, to begin his formal education.
“Since I have such fond memories of my school days and the great education that I received at Apeejay School, I knew that I wanted my son to experience the same thing,” Sharma said.
Excerpts from the interview.
How and why did you choose Apeejay for your son?
As I mentioned, I have studied at Apeejay. I passed out in 2005. My time spent at the school was very nice. So, when it was time for my son to begin his schooling, I chose this school in 2019.
How is his learning?
It has been fantastic. He is only in class II and yet he is doing brilliantly; he is one of the toppers of his class. Since joining the school, he has learnt so many things. It would be tough to pick only a handful of them. But whatever is taught in the class is grasped well. He is very diligent with his schoolwork as well.
Every child must have an overall development. Just academic excellence is no longer the mantra. When children participate in activities that the school organises, it gives them the confidence that they can do this. It also helps them overcome stage fright

How are the teachers?
The best part about Apeejay is the great teachers it has. To date, my son’s teachers have been very good. This year, his class teacher is Nisha ma’am. Like all the other teachers, she is great as well.
Does your son participate in extracurricular activities?
Definitely. Whatever event or activity that the school organises my son is at the forefront. He loves to be part of these activities. The best part is that he ends up getting a certificate for each one of them.
How have these activities helped your son?
I would say that extracurricular activities help a child’s learning. There are so many things that a child can learn. For example, my son participated in rhyme recitation when he was at Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld. He still remembers those till date. The way he was taught has stayed with him. That is the beauty of studying at Apeejay.
Apeejay believes in holistic development. Do you think it helps the child?
Given the competition today, every child must have an overall development. Just academic excellence is no longer the mantra. When children participate in activities that the school organises, it gives them the confidence that they can do this. It also helps them overcome stage fright.
What memories do you have of Apeejay and what values did you imbibe?
When I was in school, we used to recite the Gayatri Mantra. This is something that has stayed with me. I do it even today. This is something that is still being practiced at the school. Even when the school is out, my son recites it.
What are some of the things that have changed since you passed out?
There are so many things that have changed over the years. The more glaring ones are about how teaching is done today. It is good for us to learn new things as well.
