Choosing the right school for your child is quite a rigorous process. Parents start looking for options and recommendations at least in advance before their ward has to start formal education. Asking friends, family, and searching the Internet are only a few things that parents do. They visit different schools and look at the infrastructure the school has, the caliber of the teachers, and the curriculum the school follows.

Apeejay Education with over five decades of legacy not only offers experiential learning that is concept-based with beliefs in the holistic development of the child by offering a plethora of extracurricular activities. This makes it easy for parents like Dr Shakti Chopra, a professor in the Electrical Department at Lovely Professional University in Jalandhar, and his wife Suman Bala to choose Apeejay School, Tanda Road for their son Aarav Chopra in class VII.

In a candid interview, the father talks about the excellent teaching methodology at the school.

Did you conduct any research before choosing this school?

Yes, we visited a few schools when it was time for my daughter to begin her formal education. We visited the schools, assessed the quality of teaching, the faculty’s qualifications, and the security measures in place. We found all this was in place at Apeejay School, Tanda Road. Once my daughter started going to this school, when it was time for Aarnav to go to school it naturally followed that he study here as well.

How has your children’s educational foundation been?

The educational base has become very strong. We saw how my daughter’s educational foundation became stronger with time. The school doesn’t believe in rote learning. This is something that we love about this school. Hence, when it was time for our son to start his education Apeejay was our go-to school.

Can you share some of the achievements of your children?

Both my children, especially Aarav have been doing well in school. One thing that I would like to highlight is that both of them have received the coveted Dr Stya Paul Award for Human Values.

Does your son have any specific interests or achievements?

Yes, he is very interested in drawing, Math, and writing. He loves to write poems and the Apeejay Newsroom has published three of his poems.

How would you describe the teaching at this school?

The teaching is excellent, and the teachers are sincerely dedicated to their lectures. They provide strong support for all activities, whether academic or extracurricular. Their commitment is evident in the way they engage with students, fostering a learning environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking. This dedication extends beyond the classroom, as they actively mentor students, guiding them towards achieving their full potential.

Any particular teaching methodology that stands out to you?

A: Yes, the school employs an explanation-based teaching approach rather than rote learning. They make lessons engaging and understandable, which has been beneficial for the students.

Does your son participate in extracurricular activities?

Yes, all the time. He is very active when it comes to participation be it Annual Appreciation Day or any other event. He has received several certifications and awards for his participation in different activities.

Based on your experience, would you recommend this school to other parents?

I have already recommended the school to many of my colleagues, and their children have taken admission as well. I am a professor and have seen how education is imparted in different schools. No other school does a job as well as Apeejay.
