‘The potential to shape the future via technological innovation motivates me a lot’

Vishal Rajput, a final-year B. Tech student with Apeejay Stya University, shares about his aspirations

Vishal Rajput, currently in his 8th semester is pursuing B Tech in Computer Science Engineering  at Apeejay Stya University (ASU), Gurugram. The CSE student is at the moment interning as a Developer at CarDekho. For Vishal this experience has been sharpening his programming skills alongside providing valuable real-world insights. “Eager to bridge theory with practical application as I am enthusiastic about contributing to the tech industry,” said the budding tech expert. 

The Apeejay student credits the University’s placement cell for providing invaluable advice and insights that were instrumental in preparing for the job interview. “Guidance on interview etiquette, recommended body language, and tips on presenting myself confidently, maintaining eye contact, and showcasing my skills effectively significantly contributed to my successful performance,” highlighted the student. 

Vishal further emphasised the multitude of opportunities presented to him through the Apeejay Stya University placement cell, which played a pivotal role in shaping his career path. 

In a quick interview with Vishal, he explains why he chose to pursue engineering and his aspirations to  become an entrepreneur. Read edited excerpts:  

Why did you decide to pursue engineering? What interests you about this field? 

I chose to pursue B Tech in CSE due to my fascination with technology’s transformative impact. The dynamic nature of computer science excites me, from coding innovations to problem-solving. Engineering provides a platform to delve into cutting-edge developments, fostering creativity and critical thinking. I am passionate about contributing to advancements in software and system solutions. The potential to shape the future through technological innovation drives my enthusiasm for this field.

How did you prepare for the placement process and interview?

I prepared for the placement process by refining my technical skills through coding practice and staying updated on industry trends. I participated in mock interviews to refine my communication and problem-solving abilities. Additionally, I researched the company’s profile and tailored my responses to align with its values and goals. Networking with professionals in the field provided valuable insights, and I remained adaptable to tackle a range of technical and behavioral questions. Overall, my preparation focused on a well-rounded approach encompassing technical proficiency, communication skills, and company-specific knowledge.

Your future plans

My future plans involve gaining valuable experience by working for an organisation to enhance my skills and understanding of the industry. After accumulating insights and expertise, I aspire to embark on an entrepreneurial journey and start my own business. This dual approach aims to combine practical knowledge from the corporate world with the excitement and challenges of building and managing a business.
