Manashi Majumder’s children Kiyana and Krishiv are in Kindergarten and class XI respectively at Apeejay School, Saket. The mother-of-two, who provides online coaching in Science to foreign students in classes XI and XII, appreciates the efforts made by Apeejay teachers to help children learn. She tells us more about the school in an interview.

Excerpts:

Tell us about the overall experience you have had with Apeejay School, Saket.

We have had a long association with Apeejay School, Saket. We shifted Krishiv to Apeejay in class VI because of the good reputation of the school. From class VI to now X, he has had a smooth journey. As parents, we got what we wanted from the school. So, when it was Kiyana’s turn to join a school, we did not have to think twice before enrolling her in Apeejay.

What is it about the school that impressed you? Was it the teachers and their teaching style or co-curricular activities?

Education at Apeejay is holistic. So, it was a mix of both the teachers and exposure through co-curricular activities that stood out for me. The way teachers held online classes amid the lockdown was really appreciable. The teachers kept the classes so engaging that it did not seem like they were conducting the classes virtually. They took great care of the students. I have witnessed consistent progress in my son’s academic performance.

On the other hand, the school provides exposure to a wide variety of extra-curricular activities, giving children the opportunity to explore and identify their areas of interest. My son, for instance, likes to participate in various literary events and has been winning accolades in the same. And these activities have helped in developing his thinking abilities.

Have you seen any positive change in Krishiv’s overall personality?

By participating in various events, Krishiv’s confidence level has been boosted. He takes an active interest in school activities.

Are you having a similar experience in the case of Kiyana?

Kiyana has just begun her journey so I am not worried about her academics just yet. However, she has definitely learnt new things like dancing, singing, and drawing for which I give complete credit to her teachers, who use innovative teaching techniques in class. Kiyana’s class teacher Sunita ma’am treats her like her own child and my daughter is emotionally attached to her.

Now that Krishiv is preparing for the board exam, would you say the teachers prepared him well enough?

The teachers have done their best to prepare students who are appearing for the CBSE class X Board exam this year. They completed the syllabus well on time and have been helping students in every way possible.
