Spreading awareness about Healthy Living

Tiny tots at Apeejay School, Noida organised a competition to learn about health and hygiene

As a constant endeavour to sensitise young minds to enhance communication skills in children, build their confidence and to foster pubic speaking competency the school organised a Show and Tell competition on 29 November, 2023.

Held for class II students this competition aimed at encouraging positive atmosphere, coupled with the recognition of talent and effort that contributes to a vibrant and supportive learning environment within the school community. The theme of the competition was HEALTHY LIVING. The event provided an excellent platform for students to express their thoughts on important topics that were related to well-being.

The students covered a range of concepts related to healthy living, including eating right, staying fit, the choice between healthy and junk food, and personal hygiene. This allowed them to explore various aspects of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Speaking about the event, Sananda Banerjee, mother teacher at Apeejay shared, “The idea behind the show and tell competition was to develop speaking skills, vocabulary and articulation in the students.”

The competition showcased the immense talent of the students. Their confident presentations reflected creativity, communication skills, and understanding of the theme. This experience surely contributed to their personal and academic growth.

The students’ demonstrated zeal and enthusiasm, not only in participating but also in thoroughly enjoying the process of creating and presenting their ideas. This engagement indicates a positive and eager approach to learning.

“The students came out of their nut shell and shared their thoughts on healthy living,” expressed Neetu Verma, mother teacher of class II.

The competition was described as a “fun and comfortable learning arena,” suggesting that the students not only gained knowledge but also enjoyed the learning experience. Making education enjoyable fosters a positive attitude toward learning.

Sushma Bhatla, mother teacher further added that, “The students were full of zeal and displayed their immense talent with confidence. They enjoyed working on the presentations thoroughly and brought out the best creative version of themselves.”

The competition provided an opportunity for students to share their feelings and ideas with their peers. This peer interaction is valuable for developing social skills and fostering a sense of community within the classroom.

The delight expressed by both students and parents indicated the positive impact of involving parents in school activities. Such events create a collaborative environment between the school and parents, enhancing the overall educational experience for the students.

“This competition provided an interesting and a thriving experience for the students sharing their feelings with peers which provided fun and comfortable learning arena for everyone involved,” shared Kamna Dang, mother teacher of class II.

It was then time for the announcement of winners, that included the overall First (Arshi Gupta) and overall Second (Dhriti Bhaduria) prizes, along with recognizing the best performers in each class, which acknowledged and celebrated the students’ efforts and achievements.
