Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, under the leadership of Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra, in collaboration with FICCI FLO Amritsar, successfully concluded a one-month Skill Enhancement Programme designed to empower students from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families. This initiative, guided by the visionary leadership of Ms. Mona Singh, Chairperson, FLO Amritsar, was part of FLO’s national STEM drive to inspire youth to explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics while building essential digital skills for today’s professional world.

Ten deserving students were offered free access to specialised digital training, made possible through the generous support of Ms. Ashna Kedia, whose contribution played a crucial role in turning this impactful programme into reality.

The curriculum was structured around three industry-relevant courses. The Video Editing & VFX module introduced students to AI-powered tools that streamline workflows and enhance content creation. The Graphic Design & Illustration course focused on creative principles while integrating AI-driven applications to improve productivity. Additionally, the Website Design & Digital Marketing course equipped students with practical knowledge of SEO, social media management, and AI-enabled analytics to execute effective digital campaigns.

A distinctive feature of the programme was the integration of Artificial Intelligence across all modules. Students not only mastered technical skills but also learned how AI can automate processes, support data-driven decision-making, and elevate creativity. The training blended classroom learning, interactive workshops, and project-based assignments, ensuring participants developed both competence and confidence.

The programme was spearheaded by a committed faculty team, including Mr. Ankit Goel, Course Coordinator, along with Ms. Rachita Jain, Ms. Anjali Rathore, and Mr. Chitraksh Luthra from the Department of Multimedia. Their efforts created a stimulating learning environment where students were encouraged to innovate and push their creative boundaries.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra expressed pride in the initiative. She remarked, “At Apeejay, we create opportunities for every student, irrespective of their socio-economic background. Partnering with FICCI FLO Amritsar under the leadership of Ms. Mona Singh, and supported by the generosity of Ms. Ashna Kedia, has allowed us to extend professional learning to those who need it the most and prepare them to be future-ready.”

The programme concluded with a showcase of student projects, where participants presented video reels, graphic designs, websites, and digital campaigns they had developed during the training. These final projects stood as testimony to their learning, creativity, and newfound confidence.

Dr. Dhingra also commended the outstanding contributions of the P.G. Department of Multimedia in executing the initiative. The programme reaffirmed the college’s commitment to advancing education, promoting digital literacy, and fostering self-reliance among underprivileged youth.
