Apeejay School, Pitampura, organised a thrilling adventure camp for students from nursery to class III. The little ones participated in a variety of adrenaline pumping activities with great gusto.

The camp was organised separately for the pre-primary and primary students on different days. “It was a very well-planned camp organised by Valedra in association with Rocksport, the company that was enrolled to conduct the activities. They took care of each and every detail,” said the school’s pre-primary incharge Sonali Chopra.

Before going ahead with the activities, the children attended a briefing session where they were taught the dos and don’ts about the camp by the coach. Each group of students were managed by the respective class teacher and the Rocksport group leader. The junior classes were accompanied by the class didi or caretaker.

The activities were designed to be age-appropriate, keeping in mind children’s agility and safety. Classes nursery and KG had 12 activities while the other classes participated in 15 activities including Zip Line, Burma Bridge, Sport Climbing, Horizontal Crawl, Commando Crawl, Hop Scotch, and many more. Not just students but even teachers tried some of these fun-filled activities.

“We kept parents in the loop,” the teacher said. “We sent them photographs and videos of their children from time to time. They were all very excited and appreciated the initiative.”

Children enjoyed themselves thoroughly. Nursery student Idhaant Mittal’s parents said, “The adventure camp was amazing. Idhaant loved all the activities, especially bridge climbing, climbing on the rope and crawling through the tunnel. He had a wonderful fun-filled day with his friends. He loved the food that was served. Thanks to all the teachers for being with the kids throughout. This marked a superb ending to a wonderful year of nursery.”

Added kindergarten student Manan Goel’s parents, “The adventure camp was a great opportunity for the kids to discover their interests and relish them under safe guidance of the school. The class teacher undoubtedly played an important role in encouraging the kids to participate in the diverse activities. We would like to thank the principal for such innovative ideas which make the children independent, bold, and courageous.”

Amid activities, the students were also served scrumptious breakfast and lunch that included a variety of children’s favourite dishes. Primary students, who stayed back till 4 pm, were also served delicious evening snacks.

Nursery student Netra Malik’s parents said, “My daughter has talked of nothing but the camp since she got back home. She had the most amazing time with friends and endless stories to tell. I just want to say thank you for making her first experience of a camp filled with fun and at the same time a 100 per cent safe adventure. The meals served were highly appreciated by my daughter.”

The event concluded with a spectacular magic show that mesmerised the students and they went home with rich memories.
